Seb Szabo is an Australian-American songwriter, based in Melbourne, Australia. Quintessentially a musician's musician born in California, Seb's unapologetic passion for performing and storytelling has quickly resonated with audiences throughout Melbourne - his hometown since the age of five - and beyond.

 

With a yearning, resonant voice akin to Coldplay's Chris Martin & Rufus Wainwright, his ability to foster incredibly vulnerable moments whilst also knowing when it’s time to let his hair down reveals him as a warm & engaging stage presence. Front and centre with his band, he elevates a room like indie rock heroes Gang of Youths & Middle Kids.

 

From performing at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel, Queenscliff Music Festival, Federation Square & supporting/collaborating with some of Australia's best (San Cisco, Gretta Ray, Shannen James, Cap Carter, Dylan J & more), his writing has been described by Triple J as "big soaring drama" & Beat Magazine as "the stuff of lighters-in-the-air magic".

 

New single "she's a mirror", an 80's-influenced step in a new sonic direction influenced by Paramore, The 1975 & more, is out everywhere July 7.

Seb is currently travelling/touring his native USA, with stops in New York City, Nashville, Chicago, Wisconsin & San Francisco. Seb will be based in London in November as a winner of Sofar Sounds' Artist Residency Program.
